X1c - Split not working?

Has anybody noticed problems with Split? Twice now on 2 separate files have I suddenly not been able to split a selected clip, not through context nor key 's' or menu. Once on a midi track and once on an audio track. Save the file, exit, restart and it works fine.
Anybody?

    No problems here but my preferred method is Alt+click, so I don't know about the other methods. I've been splitting clips on & off most of the day with the Alt+click.

    I split numerous clips yesterday in X1c using the "S" command, so it doesn't seem to be a universal problem.  Hope you get it sorted.

    Using the mouse "cut" tool I've had it not work as you describe... in 8.5.3. Using the right-click menu "split" usually works in these situations, though.

    Not terribly helpful, I know.

      Yes... I thought it was just a glitch, but now I'm suspecting an actual problem if someone else is experiencing it. I was still able to adjust it from dragging a clip end (in this particular case where I experienced it), but I could not get split to happen on the selected clip at the now cursor from the alt-click method or the split keyboard command... ...and I disabled my two mods and re-tried it before answering this... I'll try again as soon as my machine is free (running a backup at the moment) Keni

    I just tested it again and I can't make it fail... Split is working in all ways as it always has been... I think whatever was wrong here before must have been either a glitch or user error (me) doing something different/wrong without realizing it... Keni
