Why is it, after 35 years, that this sounds more like a zombie movie?

    30 minutes till showtime...

I saw him live when the Frampton Comes Alive phenomenon album was happening. It was in Philly, July 10th, 1973 (IIRC) and brother was it hot in Veterans Stadium that day. It was a big show..... Gary Wright (Dreamweaver), the Philadelphia Mummers, (in their feathers) Frampton, someone else, and YES was the headline act. What a show that was.

Frampton was good, no doubt, he played all the songs from the FCA LP, but YES..... ahhhhh YES, YES was phenomenal. They played note for note like you hear on the albums. AND... they played the entire RELAYER song.... 21 minutes long and note for note.  I think they were on for over 2 hours and possibly more. It was a long day and I had a girl with me, (not exactly a date) who wanted to leave after Frampton.... I told her go..... but she decided to say and bug me..... never took her out again. Her brother had warned me, but told me she needed a ride to the show, had her own ticket and she looked good.

Yes was worth all the static.

Frampton, live at Red Butte, last night

    review of show:
    excellent!!

    "comes alive! 35 tour"
obviously, banking on the 35th year of the release of the big live album.
    he played the entire album

his version of 'jumping jack flash' sounded just like Humble Pie, without marriot's high voice.

i haven't heard such beautiful, well crafted, melodic and tasteful hard rock like this in a long time.
he played 'frampton' style, but his guitar tone was heavy, corpulant, and still classic sounding. A lot of Marshall tone, but refined. a good bit of octaver and Foxx distortion in it as well.....
i didn't hear one bum note all note long, super tight band.
two sets broken up by a 20 min. intermission.

here's the rest of the tour schedule, if you're interested:
    http://frampton.com/live/

and he hangs with the reverend

    extra points.

Red Butt?  Did he play at a Native American nudist colony?

(Actually, I would have really enjoyed that concert! Thanks for the pics! )

    red butte....
    is a pretty cool venue.

you've got red rock behind it, and it glows as the sun is setting.

i kept seeing PF looking up and around, past the audience, up in the sky, took me a minute to figure out what he was looking at....
the whole time the sun was setting, frampton was looking west, across the desert, checking it out and smiling.

i've seen some excellent concerts there, lyle lovett, lucinda williams, bela fleck

    @Bat.

that concert... Humble Pie Rocking the Filmore.... one of my favorite concerts that I new went to.  I had the 8 track tape back in the day and I have it on CD now.

The tone on the guitars in that show was stunning. So fat.... and the playing is good as well. I heard PF was 17 when he hooked up with HP....

Glad you had a good time.
