Step sequencer clips truncated after bounce to clip bug?

I've just logged a bug report for this one. I did ask on here a while ago if anyone could replicate this and they couldn't. In fairness it has been intermittent for me in that I can't reproduce it at will, until now.

The penny has finally dropped after it's just happened again this morning. Could someone try these steps please and let me know what you get. Note that the rolling out of the sequencer clips and inclusion of a midi clip are important, that's why it's always been intermittent for me.

  1. Create two or more step sequencer clips & a MIDI clip on the same MIDI track
  2. Roll out the step sequencer clips so they are longer than when created
  3. Select all of the clips and then bounce to clip

I get a truncated clip every time. If I don't include a MIDI clip or don't roll out the step sequencer clips it's fine but in the steps above it truncates every time for me. Anyone else? Thanks

EDIT:I should also mention this has been going for a lot of versions for me.

I tried it for you FBB and yes it does for me also. Vista64. X1c 32bit Dim Pro. But I found that if I undo the "bounce to clip" (ctrl + z), drag the clips a little longer, then "bounce to clip" it doesn't do it!! And it won't do it after that at all. But I have the project saved and every time I open it up, if I do the steps you say to do, I can get it to do it every time. Well at least four times that I have re-opened it! Let me know if you want more tests.

That's great. Thanks for taking the time. I've already submitted a bug report so hopefully Cakewalk will find it as well. It's reassuring to know it's not just me though. It's a very hard bug to pin because it won't do it if there's no MIDI clip included or if the step sequencer clips are the original length.

I'm just working round it by deselecting MIDI clips and bouncing just the step sequencer so it's more of an annoyance than anything.

    Thanks again.

I've been a real busy boy since X1c was released especially in the PRV step sequencer department (I've been working on drums in a new project).

All confirmed (by CW) so far

CWBRN-5782, Minor Step sequencer velocity display issue
CWBRN-5786, Cannot use separate snap to settings in PRV if output is a drum map
CWBRN-5787, Step Sequencer is blank when double clicking on a clip assigned to a drum map
CWBRN-5794, Step sequencer clips truncate on bounce to clip ** has been there since at least V8.3 but I could never pin it down.

There's another SS bug persisting in X1c.

Create a MIDI clip in PRV. Put in some notes then add some CCs other than velocity/pan. Pick any number(s).

Convert the clip to an SS one.

All the notes transfer as do velocities. The other MIDI CCs simply disappear.

I'll report it later today I think.

Still, at least the SS bug where if you had an SS clip with CCs in it, drag it out then split into two then unlinked the SS clips all the CC data apart from the ones the SS has "built in" were lost.

I suppose half a fix is better than none.....
