Easiest way to export a project track wise

I need to backup the tracks in my project in wave format so i can use it in a different DAW if required (when I have to mix them in a different studio). Right now I end up exporting each track seperately...so 30 tracks means 30 exports. Is there a quicker way of doing this in X1 ? I know there was no way in Sonar 7.

If you change Source to "Tracks", you'll get one file per track.

you can also save the project as a different name, (I do that everytime I open a project, I create a copy, then open that.... I've been burned in the past) Then, highlight all tracks making sure they are slipped on the front end to start at zero, bounce to tracks. In your audio folder you'll find your most recent bounces. Several ways to skin a cat!

    FYI:
Make sure when you export each track or tracks that each track starts at measure 1, beat 1. this way when you insert them into another program, they will all line up.

Another way is to export them as a Broadcast wave file so the time gets embedded into each wave file and it knows where to go when importing it into another program

I've been through that a lot of times, but it has never been as effordless as it sounds here.
if you have a project with clip automation, clip fade in/outs, effects, layers, as you'd usually have, you have to go through quite a procedure until those tracks are nicely exported, and then still I believe that the result is a big compromise.
I might just want to check with x1c if it has become less of a struggle.

Frank have you tried freezing before exporting?

Just curious what exactly the issues are? Certainly if you need to selectively export with different types of automation and FX enabled for different tracks, it's going to get more complicated, but I don't see how the a modification to the process might significantly ease that.

Likewise with layers; export is designed to export the net output of a track (or other selected source), not the individual pieces that contribute to that net output. If you need to export layers, they need to go in separate tracks. AFAIK, there's no standard for exporting/importing layered tracks. Until such a standard exists, that's always going to be a challenge.

I have just tried to reproduce some issues..

1st of all MY goal while exporting, would be to have mono OR stereo tracks on export at the same time !
If the original wave-file is stereo, then the exported wave-file should be stereo as well.
If you combine stereo and mono files, you should have both filetypes after your export!
At the moment you can only chose between "mono" "stereo" "split mono".
It's not a good idea to chose "mono" if you have stereo tracks.
It's not efficient to chose "stereo" if you have mono tracks..
I also believe that there might be issues with the pan-laws and adding 3dB on export, but I am too lazy to look into that right now.

So after you found a compromise of which filetype (mono, split mono, stereo) you want to export I run into 2 other issues.
1.) my UAD pops up with an error message and the UAD-meter jumps to 100% and locks itself in that state. (The project would play with UAD-meter showing ~87% usage) -> restart Sonar.
2.) the exportwindow ("these files will be created") is so huge that you can't see the "ok" / "cancel" buttons and start to work blind.

(camstudio doesn't recognise my audiodevice, so no audio)

    here's a similar video

Then there's a problem with clip- and track-automation on export.
ok, it's probably just me, but there needs to be a finer adjustment in the export-dialog.
I work quite a lot with layers. I mute the unneeded layers (used to be "Q" on the keyboard). You need to enable "Clipautomation" on export to make Sonar mute those layers on export.
Now, I have fade-in/outs on these layers,.. Sonar fades them nicely.
Now, I also have clip-gain automation on these Clips/Layers,.. and they are also locked to "clipautomation", but might be just me, but I'd like to disable the clip-gain on export.

The engineer on the other DAW should just receive a clean, alligned track-set. I don't see how to achieve that without spending a lot(!) of time previously with editing the tracks and going through several export dialogs.

When it comes down to compare the exported files with the original files in terms of their volume, I'd be surprised if they'd be identical..
