Software issues found in TRIAL version... do they occur in PAID version too??

As some of you here might already know, I've got the Sonar X1 trial version running on my computer right now. Unfortunately, I've come across some problems and would like to see if they are a problem with the trial that, either are known and have been fixed already in the paid versions, or is just something that never was a problem with the paid versions to begin with. Or, of course, if the problems do in fact exist in the paid versions. I did hear that the trial is supposedly the X1b patch, but I wasn't certain of it was. And if its in the initial patch with no updates, that might explain some of the problems I suppose.

So for those that have the paid versions, if you could see if these problems occur for you (particularly those with X1c), that would be greatly appreciated. I dont mind having this issues with the trial because I havent paid yet, but I wouldn't want them in the full versions. Please note that my purpose for this thread is not to complain about "bugs I have found", but rather to find out of these issues occur only in the trial, or also in the paid version. Here are some of the main problems I've been experiencing:

1) Mouse cursor disappears sometimed. Randomly from time to time, my mouse cursor will disapear! If I move the cursor to outside of the Sonar area (like to the Windows taskbar) it will reappear. I have to close and re-open Sonar to fix this problem.

2) Control bar grays out, only showing the time in the middle. Sometimes when I minimize Sonar X1, then re-maximize it, the Control Bar becomes all gray with just the time in the middle showing in black text. I have to undock it and redock it to the top in order for it to become normal. Annoying.

3) Alt+ctrl+scroll sometimes zooms at time now instead of at the cursor. In the track view's zoom options, theres an option to disable simultaneous hor/vert zoom. Then if select the option to zoom at cursor instead of time now, ctrl+alt+scroll should zoom horizontally where your mouse cursor is. While this happens sometimes, there are times when doing it zooms at where the playback line is instead of the cursor. Also annoying.

4) Problems when inserting synth into FX bin of audio track instead of from synths browser. Sonar University videos teach us to insert synths from Sonar's browser, but you can also insert synths into any audio track by right-clicking in the track's FX bin. However, when a synth is inserted in this way, some problems come up that don't occur when inserting synths via the browser, such as:
- MIDI notes get stuck if playback is stopped while that note is being played
- presets that are loaded into the synth are reset each time you playback the project

5) Cannot reset the EQ in ProChannel. The ProChannel in X1 producer contains many useful effects, like the EQ. However, in the trial you can't reset the EQ settings once you start messing with it. There is no reset button, and double clicking on the knobs or in the EQ grid does not reset it either. I can't figure out how to reset the EQ at all.

Thanks everyone in advance for your help.

    1. Never experienced it
    2. Never experienced it but others have, I think x1c fixed it but I could be wrong
    3. Don't use it that way
    4. Don't load synths that way
    5. Double clicking knobs definitely resets them here.

    1 out of 5 ain't bad..... sorry I couldn't be more help.

No thank you for taking the time to answer, I appreciate it.

As for #3 and #4, I actually prefer doing that rather than the alternative. Which is why they are a big deal for me and hope that the paid versions dont have those problems.

I actually prefer loading synths through the audio track's FX bin because that lets me insert whatever MIDIs I want into my project, move them arond however I want to get them a little organized, then patch them with synths later by inserting an audio tracking and putting a synth into its FX bin. Inserting synths via the browser requires you to know which synth you want for the MIDI right when you insert that MIDI, which is not always the case for me.

And for zooming, I highly prefer mouse wheel zooming over the arrow keys, and definitely over clicking the little magnifying glass icons near the scroll bars.

Is there any reason why you're loading synths into an existing tracks Fx bin?

Some synths will work this way and can be used to apply Fx to an existing track (the Z3ta springs to mind)

I'm not sure this functionality applies to all synths.

I always use Insert > Soft Synth in Track View and select separate Midi & Audio tracks (not a simple instrument track)

This is done all the time. To X1 a synth is a plugin. Its where you output the MIDI that matters from the MIDI track.
Using the synth rack just makes it faster and little easier. X1 doesn't hide the synth in either case to a MIDI track for use. I find that if it is a multi out synth such as Kontakt the synth rack is really nice.

There are a lot of ways to zoom in X1 with the mouse. Using ctrl and alt with the mouse will change what its zooming. Plus you can customize this a bit. Then there are screen sets.

X1 is flexible in how you can route MIDI to synths.
