She's Real Gone Man (Rockabilly)

....and so I started listening to a bunch more Rockabilly stuff.  There is a lot of good stuff out there on the net.  Then I had to try and do some.  As you might figure out from the song (not the title), this is not about a girl who leaves her Rockabilly boy but about a Rockabilly boy pining over a real gone chick.  He thinks she's the most.

I hope you get a bit of a giggle from this lighthearted number, and as always comments, suggestions, crit's, etc. are most gratefully received.

By the way the picture is of the 2nd First Lady of Rockabilly --- Rosie Flores (the 1st First Lady,of course, is Wanda Jackson).  Thanks in advance for listening.

Freddaaaaay! Your stuff is nothing if not Rockabilly!! It's not like you're trying it man? You can't be anything other than what you are? :-) But with that said? This is a good example of what you are? And I like it, as usual.

Rockin' tune, Freddy. Good separation on the guitar tracks, which mesh seamlessly. You definitely have your own sound, and it's one I like. Good mix, too. Great job.

    Freddy ... this is awesome!

I think this is the best mix you've done so far. It's clear, with just the right amount of highs, lows, the drums sit perfect, as well as the vocals. And the song is a great song as well.

    Thanks for posting!

Oh, i love this rockabilly!!  You do it mighty well indeed.
Was wondering what a touch of slap back delay on the vocs might sound like.

    Another classic.

Sorry for the delay in responding y'all.

Wow, thanks James.  I very much appreciate it.

Hey Gary.  Thanks buddy.  I am glad that you liked it and thanks for the kind words.

Hi Scotty.  I'm glad that it brought a smile to your face!!

Karalie7 Thanks for taking time to listen and comment.  I appreciate the kind words.

Hi Mark.  I do like the country side of Rockabilly and try to hit that side of it, but I'm not always successful.  Thanks for the listen and comments.

Hello Bub.  Thanks for the good words.  I have been an eager student on this forum and have taken the suggestions about mixing to heart.

Rick.  Thanks for the feedback.  I think you know I have abused delay in the past and am somewhat timid to use it again for fear of abuse  --- but  --- I'm gonna do it.  I'm going back to the working file and play around with some delay!

Hey Vicente.  I'm glad you liked it.  Thanks

Fun tune there Freddy, and really well played and sung.  You definitely have the style down both instrumentally and vocally.  My only crit could be a taste thing, but I'd have liked to have heard a little less delay on the lead guitar.  I think it would be cool with an old fashioned spring reverb sound.  Very nice clean, balanced mix too.  Nice job on this.

Freddy you have done it again. Great job.

I will admit that the opening drum part felt too dry to me but when everything kicks in I forgot all about that.

    Excellent.

Thanks Phil. Hmmmm, I'll have to try some of that "spring reverb" sound but first I'm going to have to go look up what that is.   Thanks again for the feedback.

Hi Bapu.  I can't disagree with you about the drum parts.  My thought was to try and go for an early rockabilly sound and  I thought that sound would help.  Sometimes it works and sometimes ..... oh, well.  Thanks for the feedback.

not my thing but i can recognise some very cool playing and authentic 60s-esque production! i think you cold work on drum programming and progressions a bit more, but guitar playing is awesome! BV work perfectly.

    Hi, Freddy,

Wow, I almost missed this one, but I'm glad I didn't!  This is one great, "authentic" sounding, vintage rockabilly gem you've got here.  Great vocals and harmonies, and the guitar playing and tone is perfect for the genre.

Cool stuff, Freddy, have a good one!

Thanks Mark.  I do struggle with the drums.  At this point I don't program anything because what I have come up with sounds pretty bad.  Oh well, I'll just keep at it.

Hey Bob.  Thanks buddy, I'm glad that you didn't miss this one also.  I appreciate the kind words.

FUN tune – one of those tracks that just makes you smile. Doesn’t take itself too seriously, but still rocks for real. Nice mix, vocals and guitar playing. I could see myself sitting at a club, hearing this and saying “man, I love these guys”. Great job.

Hi Philip.  I always cringe after first listening to what I have done but for different reasons.  This usually results in attempts at trying to fix the mess but usually with unsuccessful results.  Thanks for listening and for the kind words.

Hey Daryl.  I'm am glad that you liked it.  Thanks very much for the kind words and we'll see what we can do about the rockabilly.

Thanks Janet. You are most kind.  Now you have me smiling.

Hello Bobby.  I got turned on to rockabilly when Ronnie Hawkins moved up to Ontario and I have been loving the genre ever since.  Thanks a million for listening and for the good words.
