X1 is not working out...anyone know where I can get a free trial of SONAR 8.0 Producer?

...my account history shows that I have purchased SONAR 8.0 Producer Edition, but it is missing the Download link, which leads me to believe I musta bought the hard copy...I can easily go back and re-download 8.5, but 8.5 won't install unless you have 8.0 installed already...I don't have a clue where to look for my Producer 8.0 files, and I think I mighta deleted them once 8.5 was installed...STUPID...STUPID...
Pretty sure Ima hafta buy a new computer with more compatible processor...right now I have an AMD Quad Core w/8GB RAM and 2 hard drives...Every time I open my synth track in a project, it sounds good, but if I leave it alone for several minutes, having frozen the track, the audio sounds like bacon sizzling in the pan...fried...distorted
This never happened to any great degree w/SONAR 8.5...My audio interface is M-Audio FireWire Solo, and it doesn't dick up ... I'm thinking my AMD Phenom quad is lettin' me down...I've got dual monitors, but they're powered and the video program is integrated...
If I say the words HP a6750y...does that help?
Since I paid for SONAR 8.0, you might figure it would be available for download...despite that I've lost my hard copy...
I've had my settings straight for almost 20 years...What would you do?

    You're right. SONAR 8.5 was the first ever SONAR that could be downloaded - but only if you had SONAR 8 installed, as you say. So there propably is no downloadable version of 8, if you have purchased it, it was the DVD.

     You don't mention it, but I take it you can't find the DVD?

    SONAR 8 or 8.5 are not sold anymore by CW, so I think your only option is to contact CW and figure out something.

    SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

    I'd buy this before people figure out it is nearly the last chance and the price starts going up threw the roof...  just like happens with all the other vintage gear when  people figure out that the new stuff isn't built like they used build stuff anymore.

    Mike's right: boxed product still exists on shelves around the world. Retailers who possess them have not yet realized their value, so they are still selling for their original retail price. But they're going to become more and more scarce as time goes by.


    All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Thanks for the replies...at this point, I can't even assume the problem is w/X1...something weird - I used to be able to solve it w/the panic button...If I freeze and bounce a synth track, and I wait long enough (30-60 min), I get no audio output whatsoever...the vol. meters in the track view are indicating good volume, but it's not coming out the speakers...however, if I close the file and re-open it...bingo, success.
    I can only deduce that it's a problem with the cpu (heat or overload) or RAM heating up...when the audio track has been sitting there a while...it's very weird, but if I buy the boxed 8.5 (which, I agree, is a treasure find) then I won't have the cash to build a whole new system.
    The only way out of this cheaply is if I can somehow migrate the copy of SONAR 8 I have working on my laptop, to more workstation...but they have diffrerent types of processors, and the workstation is still Vista 64, not Windows 7...

    I totally appreciate that you guys are taking the time  - I value your replies, and I somehow get that maybe you think X1 is the piece of horsehockey that I do...:)
