Tedeschi Trucks Band in Boston last night

I was there... and all I can say is: holy shmoley that dude can play. I mean like mesmerizingly good. I think you have to hear it live in a big show setting to really appreciate it. Band was world class too, which helps. They closed the regular set with absolutely killer covers of Sly Stone's Sing a Simple Song and I Wanna Take You Higher. If you get a chance to see this band on tour, do yourself a favor and get tickets!

I was listening to Susan's fantastic records back when her husband was sitting in at festival bands with his *uncles*.

They have become a serious force in the world of expressive music.

    Yikes!!!

Reading, here, about the last two songs on that set just gave me goosebumps.

    Yikes!!!

    best,
    mike

You can find some youtube clips and whatever, but it simply doesn't do it justice. You have to hear this band live in front of a full complement of concert sound gear. One of the best show I've ever seen, purely from a musical/musicianship perspective, and I've seen some really good ones....

Oh, and some of the cuts off of their new album are rocktastic... really gritty stuff.

That's the thing about that family of friends... they still believe in the power of *sound* as force that can bring people together.

Yeah, she's good, he's good... You should check out this new band they have on tour now... 3 horns, two powerhouse male backup singers, two drummers (yeah! old skool!), monster keyboardist, monster bass... the keyboardist did a jazz flute solo on one tune, the bassist broke out his 6 string bass for a George Benson style solo (with vocal) during an interlude, etc... crazy good musicians.
