Travel and Truck woes...
Monday I drove to Austin (about 3 hours from home) for a business trip. Austin is so close I use my own vehicle and submit reimbursement for mileage at govt rate of $0.51 per mile. usually even in my pickup truck that doesn't get as good mileage as my wife's Kia, I can still come out ahead. the mileage is not based on gas prices, it's based on depreciation of the vehicle and expenses for the miles you've driven it. well - of course I "depreciated" during the trip! I left work Wednesday evening, get in the truck and "click...click...click...click..." dead battery. I called security to boost me off and I drive to the nearest Auto Zone because that's where I bought the last battery - couldn't have been more than 2 years ago, right? well, they said they had to put it on the charger before they could tell if it was bad or not. that could take up to an hour and I could "come back." right. I'm 200+ miles from home - where am I going to go? so I wait on it. when it finishes it says that the battery can't hold a charge. DUH. Why else was I there???? so I get $21.54 trade in on it from the prorate of the initial purchase FIVE years ago! I could have sworn it was just a year or two ago... $100 lighter and 2 1/2 hours after work let out I'm finally heading to the hotel for a meal and a beer. Oh - and I ended up getting battery acid on my jeans carrying the battery into AZ, so I'm also out one pair of good jeans. [/rant]

Inconvenience--that's all it is. At least it wasn't something serious like the starter. I'm probably due for replacing my battery, too. Mine is probably one or two years old too. LOL I'm glad it wasn't worse, Beagle.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot--hey, who the hell are you guys? X2(X3 pending hardware upgrade), Emulator X2, E-mu 1212M, Virtual String Machine

C'mon Reece! Acid stained jeans were so 80's. (At least it doesn't sound like you were stuck outside in 100+ degree weather, so it could have been worse!)
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!
