No record signal in SHS&XL

I plug into the interface, arm the track and get no signal.  I can hear fine.  The instrument and the earphones are plugged into my interface.  I tried changing usb ports but that does nothing.  I've had a lot of physical problems this summer and am getting better, I think, and decided to start working on music again.   TIA for any thoughts!

hey Warren - what interface do you have?  what operating system?  what driver mode are you using?  what is listed for the RECORDING and PLAYBACK DEVICE in OPTIONS>AUDIO?

Hey, Beag, sorry I forgot to attach that stuff.
    Roland ua-1ex interface
    Windows 7
Driver mode was set on mme (32) I think.  Now theres no recording or playback timing master.  I tried to reinstall the ua-1ex, which is what Roland info said to do.  It says it's installed but doesn't show up anywhere.  You know, buddy, I think I'm too old for this.  :-)

Try changing the driver like Beagle said, but there could be something simpler going on.  When you plug your interface into your computer while it is turned on, your computer could still be running audio through the computer's onboard sound card.  Try plugging in your interface into a USB port and restarting your computer.  When it comes back on, it will bypass the onboard sound card and use the interface for the sound card instead.

    Good luck!

Hi guys!  Thanks for responding.  Here's what I've done.
    1. reinstalled drivers (doesn't seem right but ua-1ex shows up under audio devices).
    2. Changed to ASIO and now I show no playback/ recording timing master drivers at all.
    3.  Kicked the cat, yelled at my wife and tried again.
    4. Same result.
    5. Ate BECAN!

Here's what the driver thingy says.  I have the original disc and it worked with wdos7/64 bit.  Now it says it isn't compatible with my OS.  Automatic windows upgrades?  Since it won't work with 32 bit, maybe this is the problem.  I have attempted downloading the 64 bit drivers but this is all that ever shows up.  Any ideas?

change to WDM and run the wave profiler.  the UA- SHOULD have good ASIO drivers for 64 bit tho.
