I wonder . . . . it sounds a little like you have some very specific wants for what Sonar should be/do.  Is it or has it ever been advertised as a tool for doing live dj-ing?
Personally, I would rather see Sonar become the best studio production tool ever.

I DJ with a laptop, and while I'd be happy to see Sonar get a bit more gapless and "live" in general usage, it kind of feels like taking a nuke to a sparring contest to use it for DJing.

When you look at something like Traktor Pro, which is brilliantly engineered for DJing, it becomes obvious that the ideal workflows of the the different requirements (DJing or production) are not all that similar.

Ableton's hybrid approach is interesting, but again, while you can DJ with Ableton, I don't think that's what it's ideal for.

I agree I wanna see Sonar be the best production tool eva , and it's IMO there already , Some refinements yeah of course are needed. But most of my ideas would be very useful in the production aspect, accept the transport idea . yeah I know most dont wanna see sonar go that direction but then again that would add for a better time stretching algorithm, gapless audio and just open up sonar to a whole new client base.. More revenue better for Cw and us the users..

OMG. I can see the forum posts already.

"This piece of X2 junk can't even play tracks at the same tempo never mind in time together, how did this ever get released. Beta testers are all useless........etc..... etc..... (continue rant for several paragraphs)......."

But you said it perfectly , I hope we can just give the bakers some good ideas for x2. You know and I know Cw needs to add new features to the new paid version, Imagine the complaints if they charged for just a version that had no new features. You will always have negative people , and some do have issue's with X1 but its surely something more going on.

How about when you first run the program after the initial install, a dialogue pops up asking you some specifics about your PC configuration. At the top of that list for me would be something along the lines of "Does your machine have more than two cores?" It would be so much easier than having to dig into an ini file to change that value.

    fix the bugs from x1.

    8.5.3 was rock solid.

x1b and x1c are buggy for me. audio engine drops out a lot and randomly things stop to work, so i have to open new projects (screensets get glitchy graphical behaviour - the mor eoften you switch, the glitchier the graphics), modules eg. mix module suddenly stop working, input echo suddenly can not be set to off anymore and so on. x1c is still a mess.
