Warning: Delete Bus deletes all selected buses in X1c (Delete Bus Mod available;-))
Now as it's possible to select all buses you may end up deleting them all if you wanted to delete just the active one. I did it today and there's no undo. No warning message or question to make sure it is intentional. Try yourself: - Press Ctrl-A - Go to a bus - Open context menu and choose ' Delete Bus' Menuitem proposes that it deletes one bus but now it deletes all selected ones. You can't undo it! I can't see it's a good thing to have so powerful command without confirmation dialog box in a place that has always before worked in different way. Is it time for a quickfix or did I miss something?

I just tested that the other commands in the same context menu affect only the active track. Why only Delete Bus includes selection?

Hi panup, When I delete a Bus, I right-click it and select delete. "CTRL-A" selects all tracks and bus-ses in your project, which seems to be the wrong keyboard shortcut to use in this specific scenario. But I do agree that not having the "Undo" feature available after completing this operation... is dangerous and could potentially be a nasty surprise. I see "Murphy" licking his chops on this one. Good catch! And worthy of a bug report.

Good catch! And worthy of a bug report. That's exactly how I do it myself. I would imagine selecting all SHOULD delete everything. However, it would be nice to get a warning or at least an undo for it. But I only select lots of tracks when I'll be working with those selected tracks at once...or when I'm deleting them. -Danny

I mentioned Ctrl-A just as an example. You may have selected only some buses and delete them unintentionally. Lack of undo makes it too dangerous.

I've always felt even the delete track, if more than 1 track is selected should have a warning. It would not surprise me that Delete Buss would delete all selected buses, but again I agree and think there should be a warning with the number of Tracks/Busses one is about to delete. Dan

John Panu is this due to the new select buss and track feature? Alt+ click? It's probably because of the new ability to select multiple busses. The Alt-Click thing is not the main point. There is no hint in the context menu that "Delete Bus" would delete actually more than one bus. It has never been possible before and that's why I accidentally destroyed one of my projects (of course I had autosaves & manual saves to restore it). So you can delete selected busses but not for example insert a send for them. Just wondering...

Dang...I right clicked the bus I wanted to delete and that was the one that got deleted..none else. But, if I did the CTRL-A thing...oops there went the whole shooting match....ooooch. Was this an undocumented feature?

Dan Lord how many times have I deleted unseen tracks by accident because at some point I had "selected" them. Then waste time trying to find and import the tracks. I have always considered this a nasty defect. Not a bug, but out and out defective programming. Another is if a track is selected when you get in PRV, you get a nasty surprise by learning that you have moved every note in the midi track just by moving one. What kind of stupid idea is that ? What would it ever be used for ? These defects really show just how thoughtless the programmers are.

John Panu is this due to the new select buss and track feature? Alt+ click? I'm guessing that it is related in as much as now that we can group-select busses, they get selected with the all command... What we obviously need is to be able to differentiate between all-tracks, all-busses, or all-both... Maybe simply allowing the all command to select all visible on-screen? Might that make more sense? We need both the ability to determine what all is referring to in a given scenario as well as some dialog to verify the command... Probably with the ability to remove the confirmation for those that find it intrusive (a checkbox in the settings)... The ridiculous inability to edit busses in one window vs. another (or inspector vs TV) is probably the result of not having enuf time to get the work done with other "priorities" in place before release(s)... I think we'll see all this return as they have the time.... <sigh> Keni
