are there many users of V-Studio?
wondering because this part of the forum is kinda slow. Is v-studio popular as audio interface or not really?

I agree - these forums are slow. There does not seem to be too many users that make it to the forums. Maybe this is because the VS-100 just works for the most part, or maybe because there are not a lot of sales If it's a software problem (ie: using with Sonar) then you can always post a question or two in that form. More users may jump in. I notice that there are a few topics on most of the major DAW forums about the VS-100. In that case, a Studio One user does not come here for advice, they ask it on their forum (same for a Reaper user, or Cubase User) so that will thin these forums out a little.

yeah, on keyboard corner forum I've seen question about audio interface recommendation and nobody suggested V-Studio 100 what was strange to me because it's wonderful, stable package with many extra futures. Maybe because of the relatively high price is not as popular as cheap one e.g. Presonus or m-audio interfaces??

i love my v-studio 100 , i think once you get past the learning curve , you can really get some great recordings , the studio instruments are great , except the drums are a little weak , its a small kit with only a few sound parameters that are usefull to metal guitarists looking to create backing tracks , but otherwise great sounding preamps and a great value as well for the do it yourself home studio. my advice, buy one you can always sell on e bay later and get pro tools ...............

I'm stoked about my vs 100. I'm a total n00b. But I have a billion tunes recorded on various formats that I want to re-record. After doing a ton of research, the vs 100 not only seemS to be the best value over all, but very versatile for taking to practices w/ the wav recorder, etc. It's really the best of both worlds - can't ask for much more given the price point.

I am also using the V-100 and I don't have many question about it because al works well. Also I am more playing with making and recording my music then I am on the internet (read forum(s). There are moments that I am on the forum for looking to people who needs some help. My problem is, I am a Dutchman and my English is not so ferry well to give a good understanding answer. I am sorry for this.

I came to the V-Studio 100 already as a Sonar 8 user so with it's tight integration I had very few questions. I had already used both controller surfaces and mixers in the past so the hardware side was easy to adapt to. I've never even installed the VS software as I already had Sonar Producer so I had no questions about that. The only topic I have come here for information on was using the VS-100 as a stand alone recorder as I do it so infrequently and I had never used any form of field recorder before. As for others users and why there seems to be so little interest in the VS-100, I tend to think it was marketed primarily as a "Sonar" interface (despite it's ability to act as a controller/interface for other DAW programs) so it never really caught on outside of the Sonar community which is a shame as I really think it is a great audio interface with the prefect set of feature to price ratio for most small project studio types. Shame really that it never really caught on despite so many initial positive reviews. I hope continued driver support despite the fact that it seems no further feature (tighter Sonar X1/PC integration like the VS-700 is getting with X1d...) type development is going to happen now that it is discontinued as I see myself keeping it as my interface for the foreseeable future.

It's got "CAKEWALK / ROLAND / SONAR" all over it, which certainly will give the impression that it will only work with SONAR! The name SONAR should have never been on there. Although I use X1 Expanded, I also do a lot of work with Studio One V2. The VS-100 works great with that DAW, when set to Universal Mode which was introduced with the 1.5 firmware. @ Riny: Great avatar! I am a very big Chet Atkins fan. You also do not have to apologize for your English, it's a lot better than my Dutch . If you know Amsterdam well - can you recommend a good hotel near the Central Train Station? The band I play with is heading to Switzerland & France for some shows in May, and decided to stop in Amsterdam for a 3 day visit en route.

Frequent reader (thanks for all your comments and advice Comedia and others!), finally took the plunge and signed up so here goes the first post: Ive had the V-Studio for about 6 months. I really like it for the quality of the hardware and stability of the platform overall. My counting of inputs and the number and types of inputs needed to hook up the band for our Saturday evening jams did not "add up". The first piece of gear I added was the digital ART MPA II (which is a fantastic piece of gear without peer at its price IMHO). That still didnt get it so I bought an Octa-Capture. All smiles now!! Except I have not been able to find resources on the pairing of the V Studio and the Octa (I have all the manuals and the sales pitch stuff but nothing 3rd party). Everything is working great, but I am interested to find out if there is anyone in this forum who has the VS 100 and the Octa-Capture to trade notes with. Thanks for reading!!
