MP3 export bug with SONAR X1 64 bit X1C

Hi Chaps Please try exporting a project with SONAR X1 64 bit X1C build 319 (latest patch). File -> Export -> Audio -> MP3 (NB must be MP3). I've tried with entire mix or individual tracks. I've tried my own projects and the Floatin demo track. I get "MP3 encoding can only be performed on audio with a sample rate of 11.025, 22.05, 32, 44.1 or 48Khz with a bit depth or 8 or 16 bits per sample". I believe I satisfy that criteria throughout? (all samples are 44.1). Cheers Alex

Try the X1 Forum, this is for older versions of Sonar

Johnny's right, this is not the X1 forum, but besides that X1 encodes mp3's just fine.  I do it all the time. there must be a problem with the project.

I doubt it's a bug in X1, since SONAR doesn't actually do the encoding itself but just passes a filename and command-line options to the encoder.

I suspect the issue might be in the command line options. Go to Utilities -> External Encoder Configuration and post the contents of the "Command Line" textbox.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

What matters is the sample rate and bit depth selected in the export dialogue. The most common problem there is having the bit depth set higher than 16 if you've been exporting to 24- or 32-bit WAV before switching to MP3.
