Rain and wind.....
well I sure hope people on the coast don't get hurt but man
that rain and wind sounds like something we could use....just not so much so fast.
Today I got home and after, I think 45 straight days of over 100F, my central air unit was out.
The wires from the breaker to the meter were fried.
It's been running 24/7 and for more days than the 45 straight days of 3 digits...they didn't count the 99.5 for
a month before them ! 104 + index today...cooling down they say.
I wasn't a boy scout but smart enough to have backup window unit so not to bad until morning when repairs
are made.
It's been so hot that the little bubble primer on my grass trimmer disintegrated....it was brand new on a new carb not two weeks old and I left it in the sun.

Speaking of central air being out.... I was out at a potential customer's biz a few days ago to give a quote...I had to drive past another customer's place.... the biz was sold to a co in Maryland who has not moved operations into the site due to the economy. Anyway, the air conditioners on the side of the building were vandalized..... nothing left but the compressor laying there...the copper coils and metal cover was gone.

People stealing any metal they find around here too.
I could very easily get on a box about our sad, sad , sad government but...
People are going to find a way to feed their kids.
