Pro Adio 9 to Sonar x1 Studio

Anybody upgrade from Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 to Sonar X1 studio????

I finally got the money to upgrade to a Windows 7 computer and Sonar X1. I used to use Windows 2000 and Cakewalk Pro Audio 9. Which worked fine but it was very limited. Hence the upgrade.

I saved all my projects from Pro Audio 9 as Cakewalk Bundle files to a flash drive. Then uploaded them into Sonar. Most songs uploaded/converted fine into SONAR. However a few will not. It looks like they're going to upload but then "SONARSTD.EXE has stopped working" appears. I tried safe mode with similar results. These bundles all worked fine in Pro Audio 9. But not Sonar.

Any Ideas?????

You may have to export each wave and MIDI file individually. Time consuming, but it can work. Just remember to export each file from the same starting point. This is quite a big upgrade and adjustment, but I loved PA9 about 10 years ago. Hope all goes well for you.

    All the best,

dont waste your time...i moved from pro audio 9.0 to sonar x1..with a mild pit stop of homestudio for a few weeks..start clean.your pro audio runs dxi plug ins..there not supported anymore in x1..you can sometimes get away with using some plug ins in pa9 like the sonitus pack.the only thing the pa9 is good for is the mp3 codec..dont buy sonars you already own it from pa.9.
if you need anymore help ask a few questions and i will check back periodicaly
