Driving Me Crazy - Know there is an easy answer but can't figure it out

I've got a project (Sonar X1c Producer) with a bunch of softsynths and a vocal track.  At one point I changed the volume (in mixer view) of the piano softsynth (a Kontakt4 instrument) and now whenever start playing the track, it lowers the volume (instrument volume on Kontakt instruement) below what I want it to be.  I have automation turned off (I think) and I don't see any volume control changes in the Event list for the track.  How do I change this so that I can have a louder starting volume or better yet so that when I make a volume change to the instrument track, then hit play, it does not jump back to the lower volume.  I can't for the life of me figure out what is causing this to happen.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/solutions

SOunds to me like you may either be in or have at some point been in Offset mode. You can get there by pressing O and you'll know you are in offset by the + sign near the volume etc.

Check that you never lowered the volume while in offset, cos if you did you'll need to raise it again in offset to change it.

Maybe not then, 'cos assuming you saved the project offset mode would continue to affect the project when you re-opened it.

Hi my friend!

Yes I know, it has happen to me too but it's actually very simple to fix. Kontakt INSTRUMENT "Volume" change and follow the----> MIDI control volume of the MIDI Track in SONAR..

Disable or change the MIDI Volume of the MIDI track in SONAR and you will see it will work for you.

Best Regards
Freddie

Thanks so much.  This seemed to do the trick as it inserted a track volume envelope which I could easily set to the desired volume.  Still not sure why it happened, but at least now I know what to do about it.  Thank you for taking the time to respond and share your knowledge!  You Rock!
