Edirol UA-25EX channel select?

When I create a new mono track in Logic Pro, then only the left input of my interface is used, even though there's nothing plugged in. I want to record electric guitar using the Hi-Z (right) input, but logic picks up no sound in a mono track. When I plug a mic into the left input, it works fine, but I can't seem to find a way to select the right input for mono recording?

Any help?

I don't know anything about Logic Pro but I would check to make sure all the analog inputs/outputs were enabled.

Do I do this in my DAW, or on the hardware?

In your DAW. If you were using Cakewalk software I could make some suggestions. The software is usually the culprit with problems like this. This is assuming the device drivers are the right ones and properly installed.
