Amplitube 3 while running Sonar X1

I downloaded Amplitube 3 about 6 weeks ago and was running it as a stand-alone platform while I had Sonar X1 open (or at least I thougt I was).  Now when I'm playing Amp 3 (or PodFarm for that matter) as stand-alones and open Sonar X1 my audio drivers don't show up in Sonar, until I exit one of the programs Amp 3.

I could swear when I first loaded this product I didn't have this issue.   Can these two programs be running simultaneously in Sonar X1?   My audio interface is M-Audio Fasttrack Pro.

Thanks

Hey! Are you using ASIO drivers? They can only handle one program and one interface at the same time so if you open two programs to look for ASIO drivers, only the first one will work with them. But have you tried inserting Amplitube as a VST in the fx bin and monitor through that?

I would check setting in Sonar for using soundcard exclusive or not - meaning being able to share soundcard with other processes while running.

The line 6 Toneport allows me to run dual applications simulataneously and that runs on ASIO drivers but it is not as stable as the Fasttrack Pro.

Project M:  If your reply is correct ( and it certainly makes sense) then I have a bigger problem because I don't remember inserting it as a VST (although I've tried this with Revelar).  It was very stable and I was jamming to tracks I had already laid down in Sonar with no hint of latency.

LFM: I believe I did have the box checked in Sonar allowing the audio  interface to share with other programs.   I'm not at my DAW so I can't confirm right now.

I also run my Toneport in standalone first and them fire up Sonar (using ASIO, but NOT sharing with other programs) without any issues as Sonar immediately recognizes my Toneport as my input device. I haven't done this with Amplitude 3 yet.....just played it in stand alone mode (will check it out tonight).

Hey Coughdog! Try inserting it in the FX bin (remember to scan your VST folders first so it will show up in Sonar's plugin menu. Saves you the hassle of having to deal with two programs at the same time and any driver collisions is more likely to go away Inside Sonar you can have as many plugins open at the same time and have them process sound, until your computer runs out of power.
