Changing a Sonar Project Name/Directory?

Hi,

I'm wanting to change the name of a project and am wondering if I can simply go to Windows Explorer and rename the directory and project file.  This is an old Sonar 2.2 project, and I did not specify the audio files be put in a subdirectory below the project directory - they are all in a common audio files repository under the Cakewalk root.  As such, it SEEMS I can just rename the project directory and project file, and then re-open the project in Sonar and everything should be okay.  But before I went and did anything I wanted to check with the forum to see if there is any reason this approach would not work, or additional steps I need to take.
Many thanks,

I'd recommend opening the file as is then Save As and rename both the diectory it will be saved into and the project file name. I've done this dozens of times, and provided you've set up Sonar to Per Project Folders, it will work like a charm.

I first requested a project-rename feature back at SONAR 5, but those kinds of useful enhancements aren't what CW is about these days. As it is, you have to go into the registry and change the Recent File List so the correct name will show up in your recent files menu and startup dialog. (HKCU\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\8.5\Recent File List)

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
