Cakewalk Website inaccessible with Firefox 6.0
When I try to get on the Cakewalk Website or Forum from Mozilla Firefox 6.0 this is what I get: Bad Request HTTP Error 400. The request is badly formed. With Internet Explorer 8 works fine. Anyone encountered this? Or is there something wrong with my computer?

Hmm... I get it to open both the forum and the website... But FF6 has some weird coding in that makes it practically useless on the forum

you could always use chrome, which isn't so problematic.

ProjectM ...But FF6 has some weird coding in that makes it practically useless on the forum But it worked perfectly until the other day... I made no changes whatsoever to Firefox. It stopped working out of the blue, and all I get is that message with Bad Request. What the heck could have happened?

Sometimes Firefox updates itself. Mine recently updated itself to 6.0.1. You can always revert to Firefox 4.0.1, if not on your main PC then at least another PC. Or use a different browser. I know it's a pain, but I'm guessing it's gonna be a while before Cakewalk fixes their forum. Not the highest priority for them right now. They're busy trying to think of ways to market X2 to us! :)

We've had a LONG thread about this already ... FF6 has problems with this forum software -- known fact. Go back to FF5 or earlier and you'll be fine. It's ok to go back to 5 and let it overwrite 6. It doesn't wipe you out so don't worry.

This is a Firefox unfriendly site based on this technology: http://www.aspplayground.net/ There are ton of bugs with older versions of this web forums software. The version installed here is 3.5 (old). The latest version is 3.9 and version 4.0 is supposed to be out soon. So I would suggest to cakewalk to upgrade these forums to ASP Playground 3.9... And make sure the upgrade software updates the editor, it may be leaving it alone for some reason. Then move towards transferring to DotNetNuke which is a far better website CMS platform (free and open source) and will run on the same servers (ASP.NET): http://www.dotnetnuke.com/ Anyway I have to use IE here as the editor just doesn't work in FF. So anyway, go ahead, use Chrome, google will be happy to track your browsing habbits for you and stick scheduled tasks all over your OS without you asking, me - I'm sticking with FF for everything except this site. PS does anybody ever get any forum email notifications here? Or is this just bait? Thanks..

Just to prove my point: Go here: http://www.aspplayground.net/v3/ Log in as admin with password: admin - and you will see all will be working in firefox (including the editor). Cakewalk needs to update the forums software - they haven't.

OMG! When did the forums stop working with Firefox 6?! Why didn't someone say something sooner?! I got a pop-up earlier tonight that said FF6.something was ready to install. I almost had a heart attack. I used to get forum notifications, then for some reason they stopped coming through, so I just turned the option off. At first I thought nobody wuvved me anymore. *sNiFf SnIfF*

For me IE9 is just as frustrating. Hangs on 98% of posts....no record to display very frequently...and very iffy moving between forums. Sucks really.

daryl1968 - I think you're just lucky. I've just upgraded to 6.0.1 and it's the same problem, no quoted message, and I'm betting this doesn't have a line break in it... [Edit: (adding in some html br tags)] Isn't it time someone put a sticky topic at the top of the page about this? Piers.

Exactly, it's the RADEditor that needs upgrading.... If Cakewalk upgrades to the latest forums software i.e. like http://www.aspplayground.net/v3/ The RadEditor should be upgraded along with it. /CASE CLOSED.
