Firefox 6.1

FYI: I just got the 6.1 upgrade. It doesn't change anything--as far as our cherished forum software is concerned.

I feel lucky to have stayed on 5.

What is the prognosis... which has deviated from w3c? Both of them? One of them?

best regards,
mike

By that, do you mean...  The forum behaviour is unchanged by 6.1 (unlike 6) and works fine,    or,     6.1 is just as broken as 6 and the forum behaviour is unchanged and still doesn't work properly?

Our cherished forum software behave the same way after the update from 6.0 to 6.1. I haven't noticed any changes in other web sites or software--I haven't had much time to do much other surfing.

It's not just these forums I've had problems with. Had some other hick-ups too, and when something happened while using my internet bank I ditched the whole FireFox and went to the enemy of the world: Google and installed Chrome. For some reason I can't upgrade and get IE to work on this XP based machine. Must be because of Nuendo... I am terrified of Google, but this is not my machine so I don't care. At least it works;)

Oh, and I can use hard return!!!!!! :D :D

I brought up IE8 on a different PC. It worked fine. Then, as shut down the PC, it did an auto-update. It updated IE to 9. Our cherished forum software, behaved much the same way as FF6! Don't update IE!

Mornin' all....

Yes, I use FF for most internet stuff and discovered the FF annoyance whill posting just a few days ago.
FF makes me look illiterate with no sentence structure when I post here and I hate giving everyone here the right idea about me.
So...I open IE to post here now.

Carry on...

OK so the inability to insert or format text is one issue that is survivable. Today, I am unable to get to any cakewalk URL (not just the forums) with Firefox. All attempts are met with:

Bad Request

HTTP Error 400. The request is badly formed.

No attempts using the ancient IE 6 have received that error to the same addresses. Looks like the Firefox no longer speaks Cakewalk.

I just allowed FF to update to 7.0--as expected, there are no changes in how the cherished forum software (mis)behaves. I'm not sure, but it does seem to work slightly faster than 6.X.

I see today they're offering 7.0.1. Jeez, the pace of updates for Firefox is dizzying. I suppose it's good that fixes are put out quickly, but it's like being a perpetual beta tester.

Jan, I'll wait for you to give the go-ahead before I upgrade. Thanks for being the guinea-pig.

Thanks,

I did 7.01 this morning--I figure "What do I have to lose?" I suspect the problem is due to our cherished forum software, so I don't actually expect to see any change with a Firefox update. This line starts a new paragraph. If it gets tacked onto the previous paragraph; then we'll know nothing has changed.
