MIDI Microscope broken? Or am I being stupid?

Hi has anybody experienced this...? NB this is the first time I've used this so I suspect I'm doing something wrong...

a) Preferences -> Customization -> Editing -> Midi. Microsoft is ON with diagnal size 160, height = 4, Magnifying time is on.
b) Piano roll is displayed. View -> Midi Microscope is ticked
c) I hover over notes with the Smart tool. Nothing happens!

If this works for you please try the latest Sonar patch/64 bit.

Works here. Default settings are diagonal=140 and height=6. That height value doesn't seem to have any effect here, but maybe you should try setting it back to 6, or even higher since it seems lower numbers are going to make it less likely to show.

There could be some other setting that conflicts with the magnifier, but I can't think what that might be right offhand.

Not working here either, although it was. Very bizarre, I don't often zoom out far enough to activate it but in the past when I have it has worked. I can't don't know if it's 'C' related or not.

That's on my laptop which is x32. Haven't tried x64 on my DAW yet.

What I'm seeing is that I have to be zoomed out to about 20 measures to see it. Not sure what's normal - I never really used it.

Ok.... rewind. Working now, I think that I wasn't out far enough on the horizontal

Carry on...........

Very odd. I put diagonal size to 140 and it didn't work, I then put note height to 6, and still didn't work.

Then I incremented note height to 7 and then it worked! (NB putting note height back to 6 stops it from working again).

Why?

And thankyou for fixing this for me! :).

Must be something about the way SONAR is reading the screen resolution. This value doesn't make sense on my system because when I zoom out vertically, the notes are probably 20+ pixels high, and the magnifier is still showing.

What's your monitor's native (i.e. maximum) vertical resolution, and are you running it at that, or something lower?

Dunno. I'm pretty close to that at 1680 x 1050.
