Sonar X1

Hi there.  I am a long time Sonar user who just switched to X1.  I have just finished my first project and I have to say that I am converted!  The work flow is much more intuitive and I find it much easier to use.  I briefly went back to 8.5 to try something out.  All of a sudden I could not find anything because the interface felt confusing.  Also my Waves plugins feel much more stable in X1 x64.  Not sure if that is my imagination.  Cakewalk- you have one fan boy here!

That's funny. I've been using X1 pretty exclusively for several months now, and 8.5 still feels instantly more familiar and comfortable when I go back to it. You and I must have short-term and long-term memory acuity in inverse proportions.

Same here. I'm always saying, man, if I could take one or two features of X1 and put in to 8.5, 8.5 would be perfect!

It is one of those things that I can't explain.  X1 seems to have been built for idiots like me:) Truth be told, I dont record as much as some here.  It is purely a hobby.  As such I never really developed my own work flow and all that stuff in 8.5.  I guess that I thrashed around.  Therefore I am not completely wedded to the old interface.  That might explain why I adapted to X1 so easily.

I went from Guitar Studio 2.0 to Sonar 8.5.3 (only lasted a few months and that was quite a jump!) and then Sonar X1 came out and I've been loving it ever since! Couldn't agree with you more. Count me in as a fan!

Only wish they would fix the PRV / drum map issue!

    Peace!

I could not agree more. As I said before - the new X1 interface instantly appealed to me. I went the "old" 8.5 interface a few times to compare, but that only convinced me I am a lot more happy with the X1 design. I know this is not a popular view to a few people here, but to be honest - i do not care a bit about that (I did at first, but the constant vitriolic comments burned away all sympathy until nothing was left).

I cut my teeth with Sonar 7. I was a hardcore 8.5 user after that but X1 has converted me. There is no looking back for me now.

I am right there with you munmun!
I never got my workflow down in 8.5 and in x1 it is amazing the work I am getting done.
As for the waves plugins sometimes they locked up in 8.5 for me and haven't had that yet in X1.
