Cleaning LCD monitors?

Hi-

What do you guys use for cleaning flat-screen LCD monitors? I read that a 50/50 solution of distilled water and white vinegar on a microfiber cloth does a good job, but I'm open to other suggestions. I have a spot of something-or-other on one, and I'd like to clean it without the whole thing turning into a streaky mess.

Thanks-

-Susan

I have one of those (the little cloths, I mean -- I have multiple t-shirts), but it looks like I'm going to have to dampen it a bit. The top candidates acc. to the TigerDirect site are water, vinegar (mixed with water), and isopropyl alcohol. I'll try it in the corners first.

    Thanks!

I have used a commercial product for the purpose... though not having paid attention before now, the name of the product might be an infringement...

Anyway got it at the local electronics store: iClean.  Basically shammy cloth and solution.

Side note after checking: made and marketed by ye olde Monster Cable.  Interesting...

Yeah they really don't cost much. I got like 50 wipes for 4-5 bucks.

I found a recipe for 50% Isopropyl Alcohol (>90%) and 50% distilled water that seems to work well with a soft cloth.  I keep a small spray bottle of the stuff handy, especially for my wife, who likes to touch the screen with her greasy fingers ...

The ultimate thing for cleaning monitor screens is an ENJO mit dampened with a little water. No chemicals of any kind are necessary. After using the ENJO mit (bathroom mit/white one) you follow with what they call the enjofil. But it is an expensive option but by the far the best. NO residue of any kind is left. Nothing comes close.

    Here is the bathroom mit:

    Here is the polishing cloth.

In fact you can clean your whole house with Enjo products and use NO chemicals of any kind. It works believe me. Ultimate thing for the car too is the car mit. No detergent required, nothing, just water and the mit. So Susan I want you to go out now and fully stock yourself with the entire Enjo range. No I am not an Enjo rep although I love the product and would be happy selling it.

    Hi Jeff-

I took a quick look and that looks... interesting, but I don't really want anyone coming to my home to demo cleaning mitts. I'd need to clean first!

    Thanks-
