ARC system to test mics?

Hi, Ok, maybe this is wacky, but has anybody tried using the IK Multimedia ARC system to compare mics? The idea I had was to run the test without moving the mic and get say, a number of samples at a specific location/orientation with your favorite standard mic. Then do the same with another mic and compare the room correction plots. You would probably want to compare similar pattern mics, but short of an anechoic chamber, the ARC system might be a good way to see how flat one mic response is compared to another. For example, compare your overheads to see how "matched" they are. gs

    Interesting thought....
    As you know, when you analyze a room it asks which series mic you have...so it obviously has an internal freq setting to match that particular mic...anyway.....I don't know whether that would compromise your plan. (knee-jerk reaction)

     ..but at least for what your doing ...I realize all tests would be ran thru the same process setting....

    Try it and give us your results..etc.
