Sonar 6 and Windows 7
I'm having a problem whenever trying to import audio. Whenever I try, it says out of memory. I'm running the 64 bit Windows 7. I assume this will happen when I try other things as well, but so far I have only tried to import audio.

It doesn't work on the 32 bit version of Windows 7 either.

Odd thing is, it works fine on my laptop running Windows 7 64 bit

I'm also having problems changing the default audio output. It is currently using the SPDIF output on my motherboard, but I use a Creative X-Fi ExtremeGamer

Welcome to the forum. Is this SONAR 6 or SONAR Home Studio 6? If SHS 6, are you running the 32-bit version on the 32-bit machines and the 64-bit version on the 64-bit computers? Are the computers low on memory? Have you defragged the hard drive(s) lately? What is the stock sound card? Have you gone to Options>Audio and selected the X-Fi as both recording and playback timing device and deselected all other options? Have you gone into the Windows mixer and disabled the S/PDIF? Is it a Media Center computer?

How much memory do you have? Also, make sure your soundcard has 64-bit drivers otherwise they won't work.

Is it a Media Center computer? SONAR Home Studio 6 Yes, 32 bit is on 32 bit windows, etc While SHS6 was running, I was only using 30% of my 2GB of memory. Plus my paging file is 4GB, so it shouldn't be a problem. I reformatted it a couple days ago when I installed Windows 7 The sound card I am using is a Creative X-Fi ExtremeGamer, but if you're referring to the motherboard's sound, I think it is Realtek. Yes I'm not sure where the windows mixer is, but I went to control panel > sound and disabled all other devices, and I went to device manager and disabled all other devices (except my USB mixer) I'm not sure The odd thing is, it works fine on my laptop running Win 7 64-bit, and it only has 1GB more RAM. It was also working fine on XP before I upgraded to Win 7, so I doubt it is a hardware issue. I'm just worried that if I upgrade it for $59, I'll have the same problem, and support won't be able to do anything about it.

Was the computer that you upgraded already a 64-bit OS? I don't know anything about reformatting or installing a new OS, but you might try uninstalling SHS and re-installing it. What is the USB mixer and is it also an audio interface?

I upgraded from 32-bit Windows XP. I ended up installing the 32 bit version of Windows 7 on one hard drive, and the 64 bit version on another hard drive, since I was playing a game that wasn't compatible with the 64 bit version. Anyways, I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling SHS. I installed the update for SHS earlier...I'll see if it worked tomorrow. The USB mixer is a Yamaha Audiogram 3.
