Maschine - Group, Scene and Pattern Changes in Sonar?

Is anyone figured out how to do group, scene and pattern changes using Maschine (1.6.2 64bit) as a VST in Sonar X1c (64bit)?
 
If so could you share some of your secrets?
 
I've read the forums, looked through manuals, watched videos, I've got to be overlooking something simple
 
Any pointers is much appreciated

    You have to use the machine as if it was stand alone and happened to be routed in. Basically, you program the pattern, scene and group changes in machine. After that, I usually export the separate wavs back in to Sonar. I too thought you could use sonar to play and edit machines notes, but you actually do it on machine as if it was stand alone. (which is in the manual.. :))
