Vertical Line Jumps Instead of Scrolling

I don't know what you call the vertical line in track view that moves along as the track runs, but sometimes it suddenly starts jumping from beat to beat instead of scrolling. I must be hitting some hot key by accident. Know how to fix this? Thanks.

I think you're talking about the aim assistant. You can turn it off, it's optional. Don't know why it's jumping, sorry.

Hit the Pause/Break key on your keyboard. That toggles that behavior.. It's a feature to save on cpu i think..
