VS-100 wont work with iMac?

Hi there,
Apologies in advance as I'm probably just being stupid here but I cannot get my new VS-100 to work with my iMac. I have followed the instructions exactly without success. The mac reports that "This device cannot be found" when I select it in system preferences so I presume the drivers have installed but there is a communication problem?. I have performed factory reset on the device and changed USB cable all to no avail - Can anyone help/advise please?

    1. Update the FIRMWARE http://cakewalk.com/Suppo...reader.aspx/2007013188 
    2. Update the drivers to version 2 http://cakewalk.com/Suppo...reader.aspx/2007013188 
    3. Go to Roland U.S. and find the VS100 under support/downloads, find the VS 100 and download the Logic/GarageBand Plugin V-STUDIO 100 Control Surface plugin for Garage Band and Logic 

    V-Studio 100, Sony VAIO i7 2.93GHz/ 8GB RAM, Pianoteq, Sonar X1 Studio, ezDrummer, Macbook Pro, Roland RD700GX stage piano, Yamaha Motif XS6 workstation, Rode NT-1A, AKG Perception 220

    Thanks for your reply kc2ine.

    Found a solution just before I read your reply. Updated my OS to Lion and installed driver update which did the trick. I can only assume that there was a driver/OS system problem.
