Buffers in playback greyed out

Buffers in playback greyed out

Hi all I'm trying to find the source of some clicks and crackels I'm having. My buffers in playback are set to 2 but they are greyed out, I'm guessing this is something to do with ASIO mode and if I were to changhe to WDM or MME I would be able to change them. Is that the case? It may well have nothing to do with it but I have to start somewhere. I'm playing guitar through my POd X3 live with a clean sound but lots of cavernous reverb but I don't thinks it's the Pod, it's that the clicks are much more audible when I have a clean sound perhaps.     Yes, that's exactly right. With SAIO, you can only adjust the size of the buffers. You might want to start by downloading and running the free "DPCLat" DPC Latency checker (Google it) to make sure you don't have a system problem interfering with audio streaming.
