You can also use v-vocal by right clicking the clip you want louder and clicking on "create V-vocal". When the V-vocal box shows up and fully loads the clip, click dynamics and raise the volume there.

That is, assuming the OP does have V-Vocal.
IMO, V-Vocal is not at all a replacement for a volume envelope. A volume envelope works 100 % safely and is very, very easy to handle. V-Vocal clips quite often cause various kinds of problems, minor or major.
