AC7 question

I know some people are using the AC7 controller on the iPad. I can get it to transmit, so I can play, stop and whatnot. But I can't get it to receive, so no fader control or anything (AC7 doesn't pick up any of the channel strips' names or levels).

Anyone ran into this problem?

I was just using it tonight on my iPad 2 and was able to get the faders to work fine and the levels and names were fine. Did you make sure that the midi output port for your control surface is correctly set up in Sonar? It sounds like the midi input port is fine so you can send information to Sonar from the iPad but the output port is wrong so you get no updates back.

Whilst i'm not at my DAW now, i find it fiddly somtimes to get AC-7 running! You're probably aware of the below already, but here's what i do. Make sure the Apple Bonjour Service is on and as a precaution i also make sure Apple Mobile Devices is on. Also the rtpmidi (can't remember its exact name) service is enabled In Sonar make sure you have the Mackie controller selected and that in its properties your PC "name" (as defined in rptmidi is selected as in and out. Make sure Sonar is the selected DAW in AC-7 and tap the Reset button. You may have to tap it a few times so that it takes. For me the transmission is both ways. I use an orange ADSL Livebox as the WiFi router for the iPad and PC. Oh, and i'm writing this from my iPad ! Cheers Jerry
