Memory Ideas?

1st off, my apologies for posting here.
I posted under hardware and only got a couple responses. Not sure if it is just not really a concern or not many saw it.

I am looking to upgrade memory in my PC. Does anyone have a favorite maker or opinion? Any thoughts on high grade memory vs. the cheap stuff? Is there a brand you would suggest? Does the high grade stuff make a difference?

Though I doubt this is a topic unfamiliar to users in this forum but just in case, here are a couple that I have recently read about being great for us audio folks.

My original post under hardware brought this company as a suggestion.

Any suggestions/experiences is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

You won't get more than a couple of responses here either, I guess, because this is not worth a thread, IMO. If somebody says the RAM is "good for audio" it's ridicilous, you do understand it, right? Digital data is ones and zeros, and there are no "video ones" or "audio zeros".

Secondly, a brand that is market leader and valued in one country, is maybe not even sold in another one, because the brand name is just owned by the import company, and all the stuff comes from the same tube.

It's the same as Tayo Yuden is the most valued CD-DVD manufacturer, but it makes discs for several brands.

My guess is that any of the international market leaders are good, but so are many of the less international ones.

Other brands are also good, but I like their service and quality of their products.

    Geez Kalle.
Umm, yes, I do understand. I was meaning more of the intensive nature of the way audio users use a system. Lol. Wow.
But thank you very much. And all of that other info as well...very kind. Lol

Anyway, I see some other posts. Please keep them coming. I am trying to figure out what to do. Sound On Sound did an article and I found this Mushkin company, (I know Kalle, they are a bunch of idiots as well). But I wonder what a difference it really makes. So please keep the "helpful" stuff coming. All info will help.

Let's assume we are looking at the performance difference within the system. Not that RAM is some sort of audio device. Lol. Wow. Love it.
    Thanks all.

Actually,'I have decided to give Mushkin a try. I have two systems so I will compare. If anyone is interested, let me know. I will share the results.
My guess is a good brand is a good brand but, I just gotta try and see. Lol

My advice, check your motherboard manual and only use what the manufacturer recommends. I copied the part numbers out of the manual and did a search on Newegg until I found one they stocked.

The recommended RAM for my Mobo right now is $14.95 for a 2GB stick.

I wouldn't use anything other than what is listed in the manual and Star Tekh is right about the overclocked RAM. Corsair in my opinion is doing false advertising because on the XMS series ... they list it at the overclocked speed ... not what it is actually rated for. I went through 4 sticks of it before I finally had enough and got what the manufacturer said they tested on my mobo. Haven't had a RAM related problem since.
