Deep - News from the dark side...
I try to make an easier mod handling and get rid of the patcher. Here is preview of my upcoming utility's main screen: - Toolbar is still exprerimental. Currently there's only one button which shows the Automatic Crossfades status. It can also set them on/off and by right-clicking you can select all the fade curves.
- CWP Info: select CWP files and you'll get a HTML table of various project parameters including SONAR version project was last saved with. It also calculates Audio folder size etc. little but useful things.
- New feature: current ProChannel skin is shown in the right side and there's a ProChannel themes dropdown list. Changing looks of the ProChannel will be this easy - just pick a theme from the list and Deep does all the work for you.
Same method may come for the whole GUI and other special modules. Import of user's own graphics is not an impossible idea either. My Mod Frontend idea is still young and I have plenty of work to do. What you see is just my first idea... The console view in the bottom is my tribute for Commodore 64 but I use it to debug new features. It's not necessarily left in the final version.

Not to worry... You've given so much already.... and if this app has some problems, it's a great set of works to inspire Cakewalk to open up to some of these other issues with better solutions... they (The Bakers) do great work and have many fabulous ideas, but more fab ideas can't hurt! ;-) You have my Many Thanks.... Always! Keni

Skyline_UK panup Have you thought of just cutting to the chase and programming your own bottom-up killer DAW? John Please... Then I should listen all the complaints of non-working software, because I hadn't tested it with North Korean Windows XP SPI / 8-bit integrated sound device etc... No, I haven't thought. X1 is a superb DAW. It needs some minor additions to make it perfect (for me). Of course there is no such thing as 'perfect' in a world of DAW software but I'm not going to redefine the wheel. On the other hand, why not... I've got the preferences section almost ready. ;-)

Looks awesome, Panu. Thanks for so much work on this. And this looks very intriguing to me: "Import of user's own graphics is not an impossible idea either" Mahlon

That might be a perfect way to get it integrated... Give them all the code... and somehow get some credit for it if not cash as well! Keni

I should mix some albums cause deadlines are coming closer and closer but this was more fun... What you see in the next preview may be something that will break all barriers! - How? - I let user change ANY piece of Skylight by clicking the item. It will open context menu and you can import image from an old mod, old SONAR DLL or from image file. - Cool! - Even better, all my mods are available in the dropdown list and you can replace or add them with any combination to your current theme. - Cool!! - And you will see preview all changes you make immediately in the preview window. - Cool!!! - Even better: you can include SONAR Color Sets to themes by copying the exported colors to the theme's root folder. This way you have always the right color combinations available. - Cool!!!! That's what I am thinking. Does anybody agree...? Of course you can easily restore your SONAR to factory defaults. I look forward to see how Cakewalk implements Skylight customization :-). May the race begin. Thanks for your interest.
