Clicking/flapping noise in playback! -X1 Producer

Hello everyone!

This is my first post here on this forum and it's regarding a weird clicking noise that occurs with every played note. I'm not using a MIDI controller. Here's a sample: http://tinypic.com/r/2a7v786/7

Sorry about the quality. Anyway the notes are audible (Though they might not be in this video due to the quality) but those clicks are unbearable.

Also, whenever I use Sonar, every other sound coming out from my computer is suddenly muted. Is this a problem or is it normal for Sonar to act that way?

My Sonar's preferences are in the video (hopefully it would suffice) and these are my computer's specs:
Intel Core i5 M450 (2.4ghz)
3gb RAM DDR3
Conexant CX20671 SmartAudio HD - WDM
2258mb ATI Radeon HD 5650

If I left out any info please let me know.

All help is very appreciated!!

First of all... Welcome.... "DHallows"....

...You are using the onboard Audio Card, with "WDM" as driver mode...

...With onbard Audio Card you should be using ASIO4all drivers, instead...
download and install from here:
http://www.asio4all.com/

...install the drivers, then select "ASIO" in the driver mode options from the "Playback and Recording" tab in SONAR's preferences dialogue....

...last, but not least, select the ASIO inputs/outputs from the "devices" and "driver settings"  tabs in the same preferences dialogue...

...in case you were using a dedicated Audio Card, instead, you should install and then select, as above, specific ASIO drivers provided with the Audio Card itself.
Of course, a dedicated Audio Card (internal or external usb or firewire) would be more professional, but ASIO4All (as its name suggests...) usually works well with onboard devices, giving good results....
This is basic setting for a DAW....

hope it helps...
