Latency X1 compared to Sonar 7

I just upgraded from Sonar 7 to X1.

I'm recording using soft synth Omnisphere and compared to Sonar 7 its completely different.

Firstly, with all other things being equal (so it seems anyway, as I have both programs open at the same time) the volume is way higher on Sonar 7.

Secondly, when recording there is noticeable latency in X1, and not at all in Sonar 7.

It seems I have same ASIO driver settings.    What else should I check for.  There must, I suppose, be something causing the difference ...

I do not have a answer for that, but I am having the same problem regarding Omnisphere and Trillian loading much slower then they did in Sonar 8.5.3. I have tried everything reinstalling the plunins as well as X1 and it made no difference. Nothing on my system has changed or on any projects and  I only use new projects created in X1. I created a new project with just 1 instance of Omnisphere and same problem. I plan on restalling Windows 7 and hope that works. I also reinstalled my delta 44 and I always use the latest driver.

Just lower your ASIO Driver mode. Sonar 7 and X1 are different program. find a setting that works for X1 and forget about what worked for Sonar 7

I tried to adjust the Mixing Latency in Preferences--Audio--Driver Settings - the slider under Mixing Latency doesn't move anywhere (its right to the left 5.8msecs, 256 samples) ... pressing the ASIO panel button didn't open anything (is it supposed to?).

Latency noticeably increases when I add some FX on audio tracks, eg Linear EQ.  But I only have 4-5 tracks open, with FX only on one so its nothing major.

MOTU Ultralite is set to 256 samples per buffer.

Paul : I havn't noticed loading of Omnisphere (or Stylus RMX), but just the increased latency for settings same as Sonar 7.  Its not just  Spectrasonis products, its all soft synths, so happens with Dimension Pro etc also.

I found the reason for the latency now - it was the Linear EQ, which I now found out is intended for Mastering only, not mixing on track levels.   So, taking that effect out, and all was well again.
