Weird bitrate playback problem in x1c

I have no idea why this is going on but after a while of playback , with or without any FX, sonar's playback will sound as if it is being bitcrushed from some bit reduction program..

sometimes it will go away on its own and there is no trigger to it, i could be playing VST, could be normal playback... it was working PERFECTLY just a few days ago..

things i have tried

changing ASIO buffer size
turning off 64 bit double engine
resetting
turning off all FX and using only 1 instrument (happens with all vst instruments I play)


this doesn't happen in Reaper or Sound Forge, only in Sonar X1

anyone have any clue on this very annoying problem??
