Anyone using a RME HDSPe AIO PCIe audio inerface?
I was thinking of going back to an internal card (I used to use a MAudio Delta 66, but moved to a Focusrite Saffire Pro4 Firewire), and have the budget to go to a RME HDSPe AIO. I know RME have always been highly rated but I wanted to check first if anyone here was using one of these with Sonar X1, trouble free. There's a chap posting on the RME forums about dropouts with Sonar 8.5 and although RME are giving lots of help he hasn't resolved his problem yet and this gave me pause for concern. Thanks, John

I use the RME HDSP 9624 since 20 months. 12 hours per day at work. Absolut errorfree with a latency of 23,2 ms 1024 samples. Rocksolid. It is almost the same card as the HDSPe AIO.

I doubt it has anything to do with RME drivers as such. I have settled for 128 samples latency and had no problems. But I run the PCI version HDSP 9632 and added 4 input card. I7 860, 8gig, W7 Pro x64 and Sonar 8.5. Before that I tested a couple of firewire TC Electronics Impact Twin and Focusrite Pro40. Pro40 ran fine with Sonar but was a waste of 7% cpu(20% one core) keeping soundcard up. Impact Twin had transport problems with Sonar and I often had to click play 2-3 times before it finnally ran. And Sonar had some difficulties with firewire cards which I believe has to do with that it reports different latencies in and out. I had to put latency to 192 samples with ASIO if to run VSTi synths. So I went back to RME internal cards and never looked back. No cpu overhead and works like a clock. Before current daw I ran RME Hammerfall 9636 for 5 years and never had an issue. At least some feedback for you on RME and W7 x64.

I've used the PCI 9652 for years. Performance is great, very low latency, very stable. Any plans for upgrading would be based on an RME card.

I've been using an RME HDSPe AIO in one of my DAW machines for a year now, with 8.5 and X1, no problems.

I was going to buy one , but they got delayed by a year! so couldn't wait.. I'd buy one though, I might have to when I switch my main rig to 64 bit.
