CLOSED BUG REPORT: Video thumbnails not displaying with .WMV files

1) Create some tracks/music
 
2) File -> Import C:\Users\Public\Videos\Sample Videos\Wildlife.wmv (Only keep "show file info" ticked). Note this sample .wmv video comes with Windows 7.
3) Play all the way through.
 
EXPECTED
 
a) Video played back under Views -> Video
b) A video thumbnail track inserted at the top
c) Video thumbnail track shows video thumbnails/clips
 
ACTUAL
 
As expected except (c). We don't see any data being displayed in the video track.
Is this just for .WMV files??

@48/24 & 128 buffers latency is 367 with offset of 38.

    Thank you for your report.
    Does your video track display the message "Video Thumbnails are currently hidden"?
    Have you clicked the "Show/Hide the Video Thumbnails" button? If so, do the thumbnails show up if you re-size the video track or zoom in on the timeline?

    OK I see now. Yup exactly as you describe, this however if far from optimal. The thumbnails as you say only seem to display (well sort of) properly when you resize the video track.
    Sometimes if you resize the tracks and then all thumbnail previews (or some of them) disappear (or turn black). This makes thumbnail preview effectively useless.
    Performance here is terrible as well (for a high end PC).
    Also by default I would expect "show thumbnails" should be on, as well as show/hide video frame numbers.

    Default supplied with Windows 7 64 bit I think..... I'll check... why do you have issues? - for me (see last post) this has turned into a feature request rather than a bug.
