Can't delete files using the media browser context menu's delete command

I'm in the media browser, and have used the "Folders" view under the media tab to navigate to a directory with some files I want to delete in it. When I right-click on one of the files, there's a pop-up menu that contains a delete command. When I click on the delete command, the file doesn't delete. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

     are you sure the file you want to delete is not being automatically played back (preview)? look at the play triangle on top right of the browser, you must stop it to remove a file, but you can delete from the browser inside X1 indeed. dd

    Thanks for the suggestion dede, but after making sure the file wasn't previewing, I still have the same problem. When I try to delete, nothing at all happens - I don't get an error or anything.

    and can you actually preview the file? it plays? if so the file is right there, not corrupted , perhaps "read only" or something. Anyway, I've just tried and can delete files from X1 browser , no problem...I have a Win confirmation and click yes and that files gos to the recycle bin, normal. good luck.

    Yes, I can preview, and the file is actually there - I can see it in windows explorer and can delete it from there without problem - it's not read only. Well, thanks for trying an confirming that I'm at least supposed to be able to delete.
