EZDrummer/Superior Drummer operational question

If I'm using my keyboard to play a groove, I've noticed on both programs that if I hit a drum (ex bass drum) at a high enough level, while simultaneously hitting a cymbal (crash, ride, hi-hat, doesn't seem to matter) that it will cut off the tail of the cymbal  hit.

Does anyone know if there is a way to turn this off? (Or, I guess I should ask...does anyone else even notice this?)

Try filtering out aftertouch data and see if that helps.

I can think of a couple reasons for cutting off a sample.

One is memory exhaustion; in Superior Drummer, try clicking the "16-bit" button in the lower-left section. This will reduce your RAM consumption by 30%. For additional RAM savings, click on the "Cache" button and play your song. This will unload all unused samples and can further reduce memory usage by 30-60%. You might also try increasing the maximum RAM setting (click on Settings), although care must be taken in 32-bit land that you don't allocate so much that other samplers can't get enough.

Another possibility is the voice limit being set too low. Note that the specified limit applies to each instrument, not the whole kit. If you have the CPU horsepower, set the limit up to 8 or more.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

However, in a bit more research I came across a link to a toontrak forum and it seems it is intentional (cymbal chokes) and apparently you can't disable it. (Though you could go into PRV and alter the velocities to "fix" the "issue")

But...neither of you have experienced it?  Hmm..

Choked cymbals are separate samples and therefore should be different MIDI notes from the normal cymbal hits. For example, the default note for Crash A in Superior is C#2 (MIDI 49), the choked version of the same cymbal is F#2 (MIDI 54).
