How do I add measures in Step Sequencer?

When I insert SS, it defaults to 4 measures, and I want to write an 8 measure pattern. How do I insert new measures? Thanks in advance for any replies.

All the best,
Lynn

Top left corner, there's a box for "beats" add 4 more there. I assume when you say measures you mean beats?

Lynn - not sure if this is what you need, but there is a little combo box called Beats in the upper left corner of the SS. You can add beats there. It looks like my SS defaults to 4 beats - which is 1 measure in my current 4/4 song. So if you want if four measures long for a 4/4 song, enter 16 in the beats combo box. Hope that helps.

No, I mean measures. I know how to increases the number of steps or beats per measure, which is what you're talking about. I want to know how to add 4 more measures to my pattern without downloading a pattern from Session Drummer or somewhere else.

Ok got ya'. Just keep adding beats until you get to 8 bars. How many you need to add will depend on your beats per measure though obviously.

Ok, got it. Duh! I would call this feature adding measures, not beats, but it is what I was looking for. Thanks.

Yeah it is confusing. I must admit I tried it before I posted because I thought there might be some sort of limit, which there is - it's 64 beats. Can I stop clicking now please?

It is possible to double click on the beat number and actually type in a value. I tried that after getting tired of clicking myself :)

Yes it is possible. Same method that works on most numeric displays in Sonar. Click on it and press enter.
