Update MC5 to 5.0.5?

I apologize if this is a stupid question.
I have MC5 running on Win XP +SP3, and would like to know if it is a good idea to update to MC 5.0.5 ?
I see that much of this update pertains to Win 7 compatibility, but are there other improvements that would benefit me?
It's a bit confusing.
Thanks for any help.

Do the update. There is some important stuff unrelated to Win 7 in it, plus Sound Center improvements which you'll benefit from, especially since you haven't used it much yet.

You get a bunch of new sounds in the sound center with the update. Worth the time to do it.
