import stereo on two tracks instead of one?

Hi Gang. I am trying to import a stereo track into Sonar x1. It comes in stereo on track one only. What I want to do is import the stereo track so that left channel is on track one and right channel is on track two. Is there a way of doing that? The project I want to do is put the tracks out of phase so I can minimize the center channel which would be the singer to a minimum. Thanks Jay

Two things:

You can't import the channels separately, but you can bounce the stereo track to Split Mono (Channel Format in the bounce dialog) after importing it.

But you might find it easier to use the Channel Tools plug-in on the stereo track, which can do what you want without splitting it.

Unless I'm missing something, you can just check "Import as mono tracks" on the Import Audio dialog.

Thanks Mark. That accomplished what I needed to do. Now my next trick is to make some of the music track sound better after taking out the voice which of course effected the music quality. Life sure would have been easier if I had the multi track of the song Thanks again Jay

Oops. No, it's I who have been missing something. I knew I'd regret posting that without double-checking. Never noticed that pesky little checkbox in the import dialog.
