snap to grid doesnt exactly line up where it should

recorded a track and then i want to cut out the extranous part. So i want to delete it to beginning of measure 9. Snap to grid, whole note is on. Whn i drag the end of the audio to measure 9, it definitely snaps to whole measure, but its not lined up exactly where it should. It leaves about a mm of overlap for some reason. Why? please help..thanks
(so when i copy and paste a few repititions the audio overlaps with the little extra part aty the end) ??
