Influenced by Pet Shop Boys.


Hi, I wanted to write something upbeat and kind of retro sounding, and ended up with this.
I think it's very Pet Shop Boys who are a big influence.
It's not quite finished yet but I'd like your opinions on the mix etc.

    Hi, Steve! It sure sounds very cheerful. I wouldn't have guessed it was PSB-inspired, though. This is more like a computer game track. Also, there seems to be too much stuff going on at the beginning. The synth could be slightly less pronounced. Otherwise, not bad.

    i can see what you mean about PSB, it's that synth sound, but the rest of it is not very PSB! very retro. i agree with the poster above, i think the 'bass' is making it sound a bit 8 bit. personally i'd go for a different bass sound, played a bit lower. then add some vocals! you do a good job of not letting things get too boring, plenty of change-ups and stuff. a nice start!

    Thanks, I've redone the mix and tried to master it myself.
    Please have a listen and let me know your thoughts.
