anyone recommend a beginners guitar book in the style of rock ??

hey Ive just started teaching and I'm looking for some good methods books to buy...does anyone have any suggestions ? One student is looking to play rock ...on acoustic to begin with and then advance to an electric guitar...any ideas ? I know this isn't really the best  place to post it,but I would really appreciate any advise !!!!!!

Check out the Hal Leonard Method books, theres something for most styles of music and skill levels. You might also look at the Rockhouse method videos.I don't know of any specific books for beginners.I have a couple of books that would be good starting points but, they aren't method books, they are ;The Guitar Handbook and, The Complete Guitarist. There's a realy cool poster called; The Rock Guitar poster(just google rock guitar poster).

Not sure if you guys are aware of Justin Sandercore, he has been doing free lessons for awhile now, has great attitude, younger guy, relates to younger people. But he also has a way of teaching, that I find very easy to follow, and he has courses, and books,DVDs,as well as his free stuff. Just a suggestion!
