Synths not working in X1C: Alchemy, TAL Noizemaker, NI's Razor

Happens in Alchemy here as well.

I asked the camel audio guys recently and they said they are looking to try and fix it by v1.30, they also said they were finding it hard to get the required information from Cakewalk.

I've had a few notes hang in X1... learn where the "kill switch" is at so you can hit it. 

A possible work around until the bugs get worked out is to freeze the synth when you're not working on recording or editing the midi source track. It's a simple matter to freeze and unfreeze the synth. When frozen, the midi is rendered to audio so no hung notes can happen.

This is unworkable for people like me who mouse in the notes.  I have to playback a passage to see if I even have the right notes etc.  BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Worst thing I ever did was upgrade.  I am a newb, but I like to get things working, I presume everything is user error so I have spent so much time on this it's not even funny.

I keep coming back.  I paid the money.  I see the upgrade, and here I am complaining like a sad bastard for the upteenth time.

So what DAW do people recommend where I can use Razor etc?

Aslo the on off power switch in the reaktor helps ...

How do I freeze before it is written?  Mousing in notes then playing them back to see how it sounds is part of my process.   It's so annoying.

I understand your frustrations, but to my knowledge this isn't really a problem with Sonar, but rather with
the synths - that's why it only affects a few synths.

The problem as I understand it, is that those synths don't obey the MIDI "All Notes Off" message.

Google it and look it up in the MID specs - so I would think that Midi-Synth makers should be able to find this
information and fix the problem easily.

So even when the "All Notes Off" is used, you may still need to watch out for sustain (cc 64) and Omni mode.


If you have a synth where stuck notes bother you, you should log a problem report with the maker of
that synth about "Not responding to the "All Notes Off" channel message.

Please do log problem / bug reports with the synth makers, that's the only way those synths will get fixed.

Meanwhile - here's something I found which may help you out.
I haven't tried it myself, I don't really get bothered too much by stuck notes.
