The good thing about zombies - doesn't matter what caliber. Just double tap to the noggin.
You could get by with a .22. I recommend this: A ruger with an integrated Gemtech suppressor (aka silencer). No need for earplugs. I have one with a screw-on suppressor. You just hear "click"
.22 rounds are cheap.
Also, get plenty of magazines.
Can the magazines be a one-time purchase, or should you get a subscription?
